Vacancy: Business Development Manager Plant Based Ingredients
Within this new role you will further expand our partner’ss brand Beyond Meat within Europe with whom we have an exclusive contract to produce and sell in Europe. Currently our sales team is focused on retail and food services, where you will open a relatively new market: the industrial market that uses Beyond Meat products in their production process to create meals. Because we are part of an established firm (Zandbergen World's Finest Meat) you will have all the benefits of the existing network, knowledge and infrastructure combined with the start-up / scale-up environment where you will be working within.
- Identifying potential customers and markets
- Attracting new customers (80%, especially in the beginning)
- Managing relationships with existing customers (20%)
- Visit European (potential) customers and visit international food fairs (up to 25% of your time)
You will be part of the plant based international sales team containing 7 colleagues with diverse backgrounds; about 20% non-Dutch. We work intensively together where we help each other and share information regarding market developments and current pricings. You will report to the Sales Manager and the companies whose brands we represent. We work hard, but there’s also plenty of room for fun and team gatherings.
You are successful if you manage to convince interesting partners into a successful cooperation.

You won’t be judged on short-term sales but on managing long-term relationships as we are a service focused company. Even though the average age is underneath 40 years old, 45 of our 125 employees have been working at Zandbergen for more than 12.5 years.
Practical: € 4.000 and € 5.000 gross per month, plus a bonus (performance based), and a smartphone. It is possible to work 32, 36 or 40 hours per week. Finally, once a month you will receive a gift package that contains some of our products.
You have at least 5 years’ experience related to sales and food / food ingredients. Of course, plant based sales experience is preferred just as speaking several languages.
